Sales commission platform

Challenge

A client in the telecommunications industry wanted to implement a new platform for calculating commissions in a sales network of more than 5,000 salespeople, including those in its own and franchise networks, as well as call centers.

The main objectives of the new platform were:

Reducing the significant licensing and maintenance costs of the current solution
Eliminating technological debt that generates excessive operating costs
Increasing the efficiency of commission calculation and process management
Simplifying the architecture of the commission system
Streamlining the process of creating and managing commission rules

Solution

Based on experience in commission management within sales networks, the Sorigo team designed and implemented a commission management platform with modules for:

Building commission rules that calculate incentives based on data from sales processes
Managing versioned commission rules over time
Recalculating commissions for the sales network based on defined rules and sales result data, with mapping to a hierarchical commission team
Reporting commission data to the client’s sales and management teams

Sorigo also migrated the client’s commission data from the legacy platform to the new system, including data migration and testing of the calculation mechanisms in the new platform.

Result

As a result of the project, our client:

Increased the efficiency of commission calculation processes significantly, reducing the conversion time from several hours to just a few minutes for the entire sales network
Reduced the costs associated with maintaining and developing the solution
Eliminated the technical debt of the legacy system
Improved the efficiency of creating and implementing new rules into the sales process

Achieved 100% compliance in commission calculations compared to the previous commission calculation platform by the end of the project
